Holiday Stress Protocol

Holiday Stress Protocol

Holiday stress isn't one big thing. It's twenty small things arriving at once: travel logistics, family dynamics, disrupted sleep, dietary drift, year-end deadlines, a social calendar with no gaps.

Cortisol doesn't care about the source. Physical stress, psychological stress, logistical chaos — the HPA axis responds the same way: CRH → ACTH → cortisol. Acute cortisol is adaptive. Chronically elevated cortisol fragments sleep, suppresses immune function, and pulls metabolic resources away from repair.

A holiday protocol has two jobs: regulate the cortisol response, and protect sleep.

PP-03 Adaptogen Stress Shield — Turn Down the Cortisol Dial

KSM-66 Ashwagandha is the most clinically studied ashwagandha extract on the market. Multiple RCTs. Serum cortisol reduction. Improved stress-resilience scores. The withanolides in KSM-66 modulate GABAergic signaling and reduce HPA-axis hyperactivation.

600mg, standardized to >5% withanolides. Take it in early evening — it helps the HPA axis downshift from the day's accumulated load.

This isn't sedation. It's regulation. The difference: calming the system vs. turning it off.

PP-07 Neuro-Sleep Magnesium — Protect the Recovery Window

Cortisol and sleep have a brutal feedback loop. High evening cortisol delays sleep onset. Fragmented sleep elevates next-day cortisol. Repeat for a week and you're running on fumes.

Magnesium L-threonate crosses the blood-brain barrier and modulates NMDA receptors involved in sleep-cycle regulation and synaptic quieting. When your brain can't disengage from the day, slow-wave sleep takes the hit — and without SWS, physiological recovery doesn't complete.

PP-07 pairs L-threonate with glycinate: CNS penetration for sleep architecture, peripheral relaxation for the tension.

The Holiday Protocol

5–6 PM: PP-03 (KSM-66) — pre-evening cortisol downshift. 9–10 PM: PP-07 (magnesium L-threonate + glycinate) — sleep initiation. Consistent bedtime — even on weekends, even during the holidays.

The protocol won't eliminate the stress. It'll make it bearable — and protect the sleep that makes tomorrow possible.
