Winter skin damage has a specific mechanism: low ambient humidity plus indoor heating pulls water from the stratum corneum. The lipid barrier between skin cells cracks. Water escapes — transepidermal water loss, TEWL. Skin becomes dry, tight, more permeable to irritants.
Topical moisturizers slow TEWL from the outside. An oral protocol supports barrier function from the inside — the lipids, humectants, and antioxidants skin uses to maintain its own architecture.
CB-01 Dermal Hydration Matrix — Seal the Barrier
Two components:
Ceramides are the lipid mortar between corneocytes. They form the primary water-loss barrier. Dry cold air depletes ceramides → microscopic gaps → water escapes, irritants enter.
Hyaluronic acid binds up to 1,000 times its weight in water. It sits in the dermis, maintaining the reservoir that feeds the epidermis above.
CB-01: ceramides for the barrier, HA for the reservoir. Most moisturizers sit on the surface. This supports the infrastructure beneath.
CB-02 Marine Collagen Complex — Structure
Collagen Types I and III form the scaffolding of the dermis. When collagen density drops — from age, summer UV damage accumulating, oxidative stress — skin loses elasticity and thickness.
Hydrolyzed marine collagen peptides: short-chain amino acid building blocks (glycine, proline, hydroxyproline) for new collagen synthesis. They signal fibroblasts to produce more and inhibit MMP enzymes that break existing collagen down.
CB-02 is structural winter support — the raw material for dermal architecture.
CB-04 Liposomal Radiance Guard — Antioxidant Winter Cycle
Winter UV is lower in intensity but still present. Combine it with indoor heating and you get oxidative stress in skin cells — same mechanism as summer, different trigger.
Liposomal glutathione paired with Vitamin C: a sustained antioxidant cycle. Glutathione neutralizes ROS and recycles C. Liposomal delivery survives digestion (standard oral glutathione doesn't).
Winter Stack
Daily: CB-01 (ceramides + HA) with breakfast. CB-02 (marine collagen) with lunch or coffee. CB-04 (glutathione + C) in the evening.
Three protocols. One objective: barrier integrity through the driest, coldest months. Not surface moisture. Structural support from inside.
